Third-party Parental Controls

Third-party parental control software allows you to tailor controls and apply an extra layer of protection when your children are browsing the internet. They also permit parents to customize the filtering based on what they think is appropriate for their child and also allow you to make exceptions for blocked websites.

Third-party controls are also available specifically as apps for mobile devices.

Netflix

You can control access to certain maturity levels of Netflix content from the Your Account page under Manage Profiles.

Parental control settings must be changed from a computer or mobile browser.

Netflix parental controls consist of four maturity levels: Little Kids, Older Kids, Teens and Adults.

If you want to make a profile kid-friendly by default, click the checkbox Kid? in the Manage Profiles section of your account.

Youtube

Enable Restricted Mode (Web)

  1. Sign in to your YouTube account.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of any YouTube page and click the Restricted Mode drop-down menu.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat all require that everyone is at least 13 years old before they can create an account. Creating an account with false info is a violation of terms.
