Formby Live 2016

Formby Live Music Festival
24 – 26 June, 2106

Following on from the enormous success of last year’s event, the organisers of Formby Live are confident that this year’s music festival will be the best yet.
‘We were overwhelmed by the turn-out last year when The Farm headlined our main stage’ said spokesman Pat Wordley ‘so to keep the heat up, we’re delighted to have Liverpool band, Space, performing on Sunday 26th!’ Space had several hits in the late ‘90s with ‘Female of the Species’, ‘Me and You Versus the World’ and the ‘Ballad of Tom Jones’.
Other artists performing on Sunday afternoon include Robert Vincent, Anna Corcoran, the Southbound Attic Band, BooGaLoo, the Grande. Local choir ‘Make Noise’ will be performing as will the Grateful Fred Ukulele orchestra.
There will be live music in local bars (Woodwards, Café D’Art and the Hop ‘n’ Horn) on Friday night and right through the weekend. Formby Pool will host the Merseycats stage where there will be succession of top notch bands, including Formby born Paul Kappa.
‘It’s not just about the music,’ commented Pat ‘there will be stalls, BBQs, beer tents, fairground rides and lots of entertainment for all the family’.
This annual community event is FREE entry, supported by the participating bars, Formby Parish Council, Formby Pool and key sponsors Domino’s Pizza Formby and Southport College.
